Market Research and Investment Development for Financing in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems

Client: responsAbility

Year: 2024

Deliverables: We provide important insight for clients regarding the main commodities in Indonesia from the agricultural, plantation and fisheries sectors and what business and market trends are for these commodities. This insight includes the impact of climate change from two directions (how commodities are affected, and how the commodity production system contributes to climate change). We also develop client investment pipelines in Indonesia by connecting them to medium and large companies that match the investment criteria sought, including those that have a high commitment to sustainability (reducing resource use and development for farmers).

Training on Carbon 101 and Project Management for Non-Profit Organization

Client: Earthworm Foundation

Year: 2024

Deliverables: Capacity building for Earthworm Foundation team conducted in 2 webinar sessions. The first session is on climate change and carbon management. Here we share knowledge on commitment and policies that Indonesia have to reach reduction in carbon emission. We also share the guidance and principles of carbon calculation especially for AFOLU (Agriculture, Forestry, and Other Land Use) sector. In the second session we share about the principles and experience in doing project management for development projects and how to have effective communications within the internal team and with external stakeholders.

Main Deliverables: Gap assessment on PT Agrojaya Perdana Group's current operations and policy against the needs to fulfil the requirement asked in EUDR. We also did socialization of the regulation to 34 staff members from various departments: purchasing, marketing, export import, refinery operations, quality management, legal, etc.

The event was meant to take us to take a closer look at the concept of climate investment, the latest trends and developments in Indonesia, inspiring case studies, as well as funding opportunities from responsAbility.

Nectary at SMART SEED X: Addressing the Challenges and Opportunities in the Palm Oil Supply Chain Towards EUDR

On October 30, 2024, Nectary had the opportunity to participate in the SMART SEED X event hosted by Sinarmas Agribusiness and Food. Representing Nectary, our CSO, Wahyu Wigati Wijayanti, was one of the speakers during the talk show session themed “Challenges and Opportunities in the Palm Oil Supply Chain Towards EUDR”. In this session, we shared our field experience in mapping and collecting data from independent smallholders to comply with EUDR regulations, which is also expected to assist in obtaining the Cultivation Registration Certificate (STDB). We highlighted the importance of building strong trust and collaboration with suppliers and farmers as a key step towards effective EUDR implementation.
